Female students dressed in harlequin costumes with diamond pattern and a ruffled collar throw large rubber balls in unison in the air as part of the senior class drill held on May Day. The Monmouth Herald reported that the seniors "kept almost perfect time and made very few errors" (May 11, 1923).
