Isaac and Margaret Smith wrote this letter soon after reaching the end of the Oregon Train, and in it describe their health, losing two animals in the Deshoots (Deschutes) River and one stolen, losing a wagon, roads that were generally good, good grass for grazing, and ample timber and water at their destination.
