Description
Isaac Smith describes the healthiness of the Oregon climate, the growth of Monmouth with 25 buildings and a good school, and general farming news. A September 6, 1858 addendum from Berryman Smith describes his school studies and younger siblings. A further addendum from Margaret Smith sends condolences for the death of Eliza (Smith) Butler, news of family welfare, discussions of quilting and the availability of produce.
