Abstract

Most people associate the use of cosmetics with women, but what if you were told that cosmetics cover a broader spectrum than just makeup? Research in the field of cosmetics and how their ingredients affect the human body is necessary to maintain the well-being of the consumers who use these products daily. This presentation will cover what cosmetics are, how they are regulated, and my own study on talc-containing cosmetics with potential asbestos contamination using scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
