Abstract
The topic that will be covered in the presentation is the use of primary and secondary documents in the classroom. The purpose of the study is to determine which type of document enhances students learning as well as their engagement in the classroom. In the classroom that this project is being conducted there is freshmen students from a variety of socio-economic and racial backgrounds. The method for conducting the research will consist of studying students’ pre and post results on tests after students have been taught a unit using primary and secondary documents along with student interviews.
