Abstract
We examine Spark's and Abrahamson's linear programming approach to predict the winner of the Cy Young award. As this model was formulated in 2004, we examine the performance of their approach over the last 8 seasons for predicting the actual winners. Based on issues present in the feasibility region of original work, we examine new formulations of the problem with alternate objective functions and new constraints and discuss our results.
