The purpose of Beaches Forever, Inc., an Oregon non-profit organization that existed from 1968-1969, was to to promote the establishment, acquisition, and preservation of public ownership of Oregon ocean beach lands. The organization used different media types to distribute and provide information to Oregon citizens and voters on the Ballot Measure No. 6 in the November election of 1968. The most common slogan, "Beaches are for kids not for cars" provided a lasting image that was sprinkled throughout literature and handouts leading up to the November election. These are but a few materials found in the manuscript collection held at Western Oregon University Archives.
