Abstract

Throughout my first three years of college I focused only on completing my required schooling and moving into the career I had tediously planned. Then, in the summer of my fourth year, I went to London. The experience completely changed my perception. I decided to actually enjoy my college years, rather than just going through the motions and letting all the days blur together. In London, I embraced each day with the people around me. My love for literature was strengthened as we explored the cities, cathedrals, and incredible views that inspired great writers. In turn, I adopted a more adventurous spirit and gained an appetite for creative writing. When I came back to Western this new outlook came with me and I dipped my pen into the ink of the opportunities in the people and places around me.
