Abstract

Evaluation of research studies regarding performance claims made concerning the use of Sodium Bicarbonate as a method of improving exercise performance by reducing or delaying fatigue. Evaluation of the research reviewed showed sodium bicarbonate could have a slight positive effect on performance of high intensity exercise lasting between 1-10 minutes with an average performance increase of 1-2%.
