Abstract

One factor in the high prevalence rates of violence is the widely held false beliefs and myths about sexual violence. These myths are harmful to all individuals, especially survivors of sexual violence. This multi-media project addresses some of these myths in a campaign that attempts to break down false beliefs about sexual violence. The presenter will discuss her role in creating and launching the campaign as an advocate at Abby’s House. Elements of the CounterACT Violence campaign will be featured.
