Abstract

Does the American Dream mean the same thing to everyone? One literature class asked this question from multiple perspectives and found many points of overlap, some differences, and also more questions. This presentation showcases 5 individuals’ definitions of what the American Dream means in contemporary society and why it matters (or not) to Americans. Set against the backdrop of the art of Norman Rockwell, our voices capture America’s past and call to its future.
