Abstract

This project was designed for a Human Rights class. It explores the public’s knowledge of child soldiers in chronic and intense conflict situations around the world through the development of a public service announcement (PSA) video. Beginning with the very first article of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights: “All humans are born free and equal in dignity and rights”, the conscription of child soldiers represents violations of many of the Declaration’s thirty articles. This PSA was designed to raise awareness of the issue and to contribute to the global effort to end this violence directed at children.
