Abstract

The presentation focuses on herbal medicinal practices in Ghana, West Africa, and the influence of different cultural practiced by different tribes in herbal medicinal uses. Herbal medical uses are different across the country. Practices of herbal medicine by herbal medicinal practitioners are different due to difference in training. About 70% of the population of Ghana uses herbal medicine. There have been a few scientific researches in the types of herbs used, their effective healing abilities and the safety precautions. There are many different herbs available to the people due to the large rainforest that runs through sub-Saharan Africa, which leads to newly found herbs every day.
