Abstract

This video gives an overview of my portfolio for the MSED:IT Program. I am a park ranger at Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge; much of my professional life revolves around connecting people with the unique landscapes and wildlife of Kodiak. Technology is an incredibly valuable tool to educate and inspire people about remote places such as Kodiak. It can also be a distraction from actually getting outside and experiencing these places. My academic work explores both the potential and pitfalls of incorporating technology in creating connections to natural environments.
