Abstract

This piece developed through multiple interviews with my aunt regarding her childhood as a member of the persecuted Baha’i community in pre-revolution Iran. We worked together to portray accurately both the beauty and the pain of her memories as a six-year-old girl coming to understand the complexities of systematic and institutionalized religious prejudice, even as it manifested itself within her own family.
